Sade (1/17) - The Sweetest Taboo (MUSICAL MONDAY)

I love SADE, I love her music. She is a woman of class and so is her music.
The Sweetest Taboo is a song you will gently swing your body to, the rhythm is killing. When I heard the song for the very first time (as a teenager), I wondered why somebody would find sweetness in a taboo (but now, I know better).

Hurricane Irene 2011

The news is every where. It's another disastrous Hurricane that is said to be likely to break 2008's record. This is bad news for the whole world and especially for all the people living in the path of the storm (East Coast).
The only thing I can say is EVACUATE. Do not wait for anything, just take valuable things and Evacuate.
I pray for everybody living in that area and wish that they all stay safe.

Reviving your Hair (Fashion and Beauty Friday)

Photo:hairattention.com

Has your hair lost its lustre? There are things you can do to revive it and give it back it's shine. Dull hair can be the result of a variety of factors, but fortunately, it's a fairly easy problem to treat.
Here are some of the tips for bringing radiance back to dull,
lifeless hair.

1. Dyeing your hair frequently can rob it of its gloss. If you
have coloured hair, use products specifically designed for colour-
treated hair to help preserve its shine.

2. Use a clarifying shampoo (or baking soda) monthly to remove the dulling build-up left behind by styling products.

3. Mild and gentle daily brushing helps to activate natural
oils in the hair and restore its shine.

4. Wash and rinse your hair with cool or cold water. This
seals hair cuticles, which causes them to reflect more light.

5. Use an ordinary egg to boost shine! First, separate the
egg white from the yolk. Then add one teaspoon of water to the yolk
and blend it so the mixture becomes creamy. Whip the white portion
of the egg briskly. Mix the two parts and massage your scalp with it
until a froth forms. Lastly, rinse your hair thoroughly.

12-Year-Old Delivers Baby Brother

Say Your Mind!
For some people, this is amazing while some mothers have their reservations about this (the early exposure to the sight of delivery and the psychological effects on the young child).
The question is: Will you (finding yourself in the same situation) let your kid as young as 12-Year-Old do this?

A Day At Kikolino

School kids are on break, the weather was not friendly (it rained all day long). What do I do with my active kids? I took them to an indoor play ground. They needed to exhaust some energy, they were like Jelly Fishes by the time we came home (me too).

Celine Dion - A New Day Has Come live with Lyrics! (Musical Monday)

I loved this song right from the first day a heard it. Though I was still single, I could relate with the lyrics.
When I had my first child, a friend of mine forwarded it to my cell phone and it melted my heart. It made a whole lot of new meaning to me. I love this song.

Fashion Forward and A Bit Funky...Summer to Fall Ideas (Fashion Friday)

It's Fashion Friday and I'm bringing in a guest post from a blogger Friend of mine. She is one of the authors of  LaDy LaDuke. They are the Creators & Designers of  handmade business, LaDy LaDuke...Unique Items For Mothers and Women. Their  personal blog features real Mom and handmade artisan interviews.

Read her post:

Fashion Forward and A Bit Funky...Summer to Fall Ideas

This is the time of year when you’re still holding onto the summertime, but you know Fall is right around the corner, and you’re not quite ready for a wardrobe overhaul.  Plus, all of those Fall/Winter clothes can get pretty expensive.  Here are a few ideas to take your Summer fashion, and blend it into your Fall wearing. Plus, spruce up items you already have with some choice, and yes, fashion forward and pleasantly unexpected selections…

You know that easy cotton or linen Summer Dress you’ve been wearing, like this tank style?...

Just add some warmth on your gams with some really funky leggings...

There are so many fun leggings these days on the market, and not only are they comfy, but affordable.

Let’s keep this outfit going…slip on a neutral suede bootie...

The peep toe bootie style here and camel color give you that combined, Summer/Fall look, and then throw on something like this Slick Grey Leather Coat or any of your neutral looking jackets in your closet...

What’s great about all of these pieces, is that they all go together, but can easily be worn separately, and go with so many other items in your wardrobe.

The most inexpensive thing you can do for a new look is to accessorize.  Have you ever taken a look at your husband’s ties?  They can be gorgeous right?  So use them…put one on with your shirt or dress, or you can even wear them as belts.  There are some really great prints out there too that will still give you a feminine edge...

Let’s take a basic t-shirt now, and add a new twist like this Elastic Harness accent.
You could add this harness to any of your clothes for something completely fashion forward and unique. And instead of a typical necklace, try something like a Dapper Bow Tie one…

Fall always calls for scarf wearing, because you can pair it with a light jacket or just on its own for those still warm enough evenings.  A scarf can really make your outfit too, similar to what a necklace does for it.  And if this Rusty Foks handmade fox shaped scarf is not a statement, I don’t know what is!  I like that they have little Mini Foks too…

Sometimes, you might want to splurge a little on something new for the changing season and treat yourself a tad.  So if you’re going to spend some money, go for something different and striking.  I’m sticking with the accessories here on this splurge, so that they can be used more with different outfits, and treasured for years.  You can always tuck away a good piece of jewelry and bring it out again and again.

This Glam Rock Black Leather Cuff can be dressed up or down, but will certainly draw some attention…

Or maybe you should go for the Sinai Glitz cuff, and pair it with your new Rusty Foks scarf!...

Now, can you get anymore fashion forward and funky than that!?

VoiceBoks - The Only Promising Blogger Community

First of all, I have to say that this is not in any way a sponsored post. Everything testimony written here are what I have experienced since the time I joined voiceBoks.

*Every blogger wants to be followed
*Every blogger wants her articles to be read and her voice to be heard
*Every blogger wants to have her visitors/readers leave meaningful comments on her posts
*Every blogger wants not only to be followed but to have her followers who always come back
*Every blogger wants to be updated on how to improve their sites and increase  traffics.
These and some other reasons are why most of us have joined so many network communites that promised to do a lot for us. As a new blogger, I joined communites, followed people who never cared to follow back. I visited blogs, spent time reading theirs posts, left reasonable comments and didn't get anything in return - it was really frustrating. What kept me going was that I started blogging out of my passion for it, so I didn't really care.
Everything turned around when Lexie Lane (the founder of voiceboks) sent me an invite to join the community. Since then, I've been singing a different song. Everyday, I get tons of page views, followers, meaningful comments on my site which 80% are coming from the members of voiceBoks. It's unbelievable. The members are active and dedicated, they participate in everything  you are doing on your site, they are very friendly and always ready to help out. Questions are asked - answers are given, opinions are shared, no one is left behind. Long lasting friendships are being grounded amongst the members, it's like a one big happy family. I can go on and on.
These are what I did not see in other communites. VoiceBoks is a place to be.
Thank you ladies and all the good hearted people of voiceBoks, I love you all more than you can ever imagine. Keep on the good work.
Have you started voiceBoksing or are you still left behind? You deserve more - your voice needs to be heard. Come and join us at voiceBoks, a trial will convince you.

Are you a member of voiceBoks, what are your experiences so far? Please share with us. Thanks.

One Moment In Time (Whitney Houston - Grammy Awards Live)

Musical Monday:

One Moment in Time by Whitney, this is music to my soul. I'm always touched by this music. I'm singing my heart out with this song. I cannot say enough about it, I just want to share the lyrics and the video with you all.

The Lyrics:
Each day I live
I want to be
A day to give
The best of me
I'm only one
But not alone
My finest day
Is yet unknown

I broke my heart
Fought every gain
To taste the sweet
I face the pain
I rise and fall
Yet through it all
This much remains

I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity

What A Woderful World (Musical Monday)

It was a long weekend and my daughter couldn't wait to go to Kindergarten this morning. The weather forecast didn't promise a sunny day but it was  friendly when we were outside and I hope it remains like that. As we  were approaching the Kindergarten, we saw other kids and it struck me how they were running to their friends and saying how are you and the parents saying Good morning to each other with little chats here and there. It was a lovely scene and I thought to myself,  isn't this how our world should be? On my way back to the house, I was humming the song of Louis Armstrong. Since today is my Musical Monday, I want to share the song with you. Happy viewing:
Louis Armstrong sings: “I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do – They’re really saying I love you”.

A giant statue of a lady in Hamburg

This is a very interesting sight for people who are living in or near Hamburg, Germany. This giant statue of a lady is the work of  Oliver Voss “The Bather”. It currently  floats in Alster Lake Hamburg, Germany.  Oliver Voss's gigantic floating sculpture is designed to look like a woman bathing in the picturesque Alster Lake. According to report, the floating lady sculpture will be on display for only 10 days.
Since I'm living some couple of hours away from Hamburg, we will be heading over to Alster Lake to behold this wonderful sight.

"I Like to Move It" Madagascar 2 (Musical Monday)

It's Musical Monday morning and I didn't feel like getting up. But I didn't have any choice because I needed to get up and get going. Schools kids are on holidays but some Kindergartens are still open. I had to do school runs and get some errands done. To get my self in the right spirit today, I needed a music that would do the magic for me. So this is the music that I started my day with. It really worked some wonders. I as started dancing to the tune and singing along (Physically Fit), I felt like an "under 16".

I Like To Move It - Move It.
English Version:

I like to move it (Deutsch)
