Thanking God For My Friends

FRIENDS ON THE NET

Thanking God for my friend

Each day I'm
thanking God for you
You've been kind,
understanding
and thoughtful..

It surely is a blessing
to have you in my life,
So, I'd really like
to say "thank you" for
accepting me like I am.

I'm so glad we have Jesus
in our hearts..
You're a precious friend
I'll love forever

it flows between the mountains.

Boston Tragedy

Hello everyone! Today, I'm joining in prayers for those who lost their precious loved ones and for everyone that has been injured in the Boston Tragedy.
In a time like this, all I can do is to mourn with those who are mourning. I pray that God will be with you through this difficult time and always.

Heavy are our hearts,
How they ache you,
Wanting to believe
This tragedy not to be true.

Please know in our prayers
You are, you will be,
Each and every victim,
And every family.

Cheerful were the cries
As runners ran the race,
Yet who would know the terror
All would soon face?

May the tears we shed
And the many prayers we raise
Bring comfort to you
As gentle sunrays.

May God’s eternal arms
Wrap you with His peace
As the horror of the day
Your soul does release.

In God’s eternal heart
Please find peace and rest,
Knowing He works all things,
Even this, for best.

Those who planned this,
For you we also pray
That you may repent
And follow God’s way.

Yes, many prayers we lift,
Many tears we now shed
For those we lost,
For those who bled.

Lord, help us now,
Help us to see Your love,
Let us embrace Your mercy
Streaming from above.

Heal Boston’s wounds,
Restore her sweet joy,
Remove fear from all:
Man, woman, girl, boy.

For a race we run
One leading to eternal treasure,
And in Your presence
We find peace without measure.

You are our only hope,
Our portion for eternity,
So please bless every victim
And every family.

Yes, heavy are our hearts,
And we lift them to You,
Please heal Boston and her people
With Your love true.

April 22 - Earth Day: We make New Year's resolutions every year, right? So why not make an Earth Day Resolution?  Do your part to preserve our planet by resolving to buy locally grown foods.  Locally grown food has three amazing qualities:
  1. It tastes better.
  2. It helps the local economy.
  3. It helps the planet (think no diesel fuel used to ship food in from far away).

The zip code-based search on Local Harvest's web site makes it simple to find a farmer's market in your area. We'll also be covering more about buying locally grown foods in our Earth Day Blog Post on April 22.  Don't miss it!

National Soy Foods Month: April is National Soy Foods Month.  Soybeans are grown in over 30 states in the United States and sold in grocery stores as soymilk, soy cheese, tofu, edamame, and energy bars.

Like meat, soybeans contain the amino acid that is needed to create a complete protein so they are a great option for Meatless Monday Meals. Learn more about including versatile, protein rich soy on your menus by reading about Tofu.

National Garden Month: The motto of the National Gardeners Association is "When You Garden, You Grow". Taking care of plants can most certainly provide an opportunity to learn, relax, ponder life, and exercise all at the same time. When you involve kids, you help them learn skills that last a lifetime.  If you are ready to start your own backyard garden, read this blog post Planting a Kid-Friendly Garden for tips to get started.  Look for another Peas & Carrots blog post later this month about Gardening Fun.

With Chevy on the Romantic Road in Germany

I like going on road trips and I don't mind if they are long or short as long as I have a comfy ride.  I have travelled to many cities and countries and my best part is always when I'm cruising on the road. Now that I have kids, there is nothing I consider as travelling with a very sound and comfortable vehicle like the ones you can find at  www.chevyequinoxwheelingil.com . Even when we travel with flights, we are sure to hire a family vehicle that will make us feel really at home. One of the things I like as an expatriate woman is that through my travelling to many countries, I  meet so many nice people, learn different cultures, learn new languages and of-course, taking long road trips. We enjoy cruising together on the high way to see the country well. Road trips are great and they are even better when in Europe. Instead of munching on fast foods on the road, you nibble on some local delicacies.

My best road trip was the first time I travelled through the Romantic Road in Germany and that was also the first time I drove one of Chevy  cars. It was an adventure I would never forget. It took a while to develop an itinerary and despite it being a little too tight, I thought we did pretty well.  Driving on German "autobahn" with a sophisticated vehicle was just nothing less than  perfect. We didn't want to use organised trip along the route because part of the charm is that we stopped when and where we wanted to. We stopped at almost every cathedral and sat down in most. It gave our feet a break and allowed us to take it all in. Part of the joy of having ones own car is the ability to make your own schedule and to make diversions off the recommended route to sites that interest you. Obviously, car hire is available from airports and cities and towns along the way for those arriving by plane and that was why we decided to rent a car. Plenty of other visitors come to the Romantic Road from other parts of Europe with their own vehicle too. Like I said, road trips are great. If haven't been on one, you need to give it a try.

Custom Lanyards Are Just Cool For Promoting Businesses

As a business owner, I'm always looking out for cool advertising ideas to promote our business. Giving out some custom made promotional items is such a great way to do that, all you need is just to get creative. We have used a lot of advertising freebies for our small scale business and we don't have any regrets in investing in them. Over the time, I have found out that some promotional products bring better results than the others. A typical example are the well known custom lanyards. I call these products (custom lanyards) "go getters". It is amazing how good these items are. I found out that I was quick to notice anybody wearing this ( and they come in different nice and eye-catchy colours) and my brain automatically memorizes the company's name or any other information they have on it. After some time, I started thinking of customizing my own lanyards to get our brand name out there and we did.

Business owners are always looking for different ways to advertise their businesses or products and for the fact that there are thousands of promotional products out there in the market, you will agree with me that choosing what to use is not an easy task. When choosing promotional branding products,  you need to put a lot of things into consideration. For our business, we considered using things that any body can use irrespective of their gender or age. We also considered what people would always want to use so that it can be seen by other people. We didn't want something that would just lay around somewhere and will not be noticed.

For our lanyard, we chose some nice bright colours and our business name and website was woven on them. Just after then, we attended a Trade-Fair and we decided to share/give out only our customized lanyards to people, customers/clients and they all liked them because they are just perfect for keeping track of keys name tags and  I also gave out to our family and friends. I'm always wearing them around and even our kids are very proud to wear them to school  and their friends think they are cool. When people walk up to me from time to time to chat and get more information about my business, I know that the lanyard hanging around my neck is doing a super job.

Having a Dedicated Server For Your Business is The Way to Go

So many business people (especially small scale) are still doubting the fact that dedicated server   is just good for their businesses. This is one of the topics I don't like arguing much about because as they say - "seeing is believing", you  need to try this out so that you will understand how good it is. Well from my experience so far, I have come to understand that a dedicated server means that your server is dedicated only to you and that you have a complete control over it. This single web server within a computer network will be used only for you as a customer. You don't share it with anybody.
When we started our small business at home, we found out that we would be doing a lot on the internet. We use internet for practically almost everything we do and when we were trying to beat time, we notice that our system was always getting slower. There is nothing that could drive me nuts like a slow internet system  that would not agree to work with me. Because I'm a mother, I try to set time for my business and I like finishing what I've mapped out for myself to do before my kids come back from school so that I would also have time for them. With our then shared-server, everything was so slow and I hardly finish whatever I was supposed to do. I didn't know what the problem was until  we got a professional who advised us to go  for a dedicated server. We were sceptical because  we hadn't heard this from any other person before. I even asked some friends about it and they didn't encourage us to go for it. After another month of working frustration, we decided to give it a try since we didn't our growing business and family life to suffer.

Since we started using dedicated server, I was asking my husband why it took us so much time to take the decision. I have to tell you that it has so many advantages that come with it. Can you imagine sharing the same telephone line and number with your neighbour? Can you imagine not having your privacy even when you have some top secrets you want to discuss and you are always afraid that your neighbour might hear everything from the other end? That is exactly how it is with using a shared server.  I think business is business and should be treated as such. There are some extra steps or things you need to do for the benefit of your business and you won't regret them at the end of the day.
